High up in the slopes of Takachiho peak, known as Korean mountains with an altitude of 1,700 meters above sea level, (also known as "The Myth of Descendants") you can discover the rich tea plantation at Kirishima of Kagoshima prefecture.
Kirishima Tea which grows in a misty climate of rare altitude difference, enveloped in a constant cool environment through severe cold and warm temperatures throughout the year. Yielding a rich flavour of fragrant, yet safe and assured quality that it can boast of as the highest of standards. Precisely with such quality, it is not surprising that it won 1st in the National Tea Ceremony Award in 2010 and it was also hailed as the most delicious tea producing area in Japan.
Koichi Henta, a worthy and honourable descendant of the Henta family, proudly and passionately continues the tradition of the family's production of "Henta" brand of tea. It has a history of more than 30 years of tea farming in Kirishima and winning many awards.
Nihon Shohin is fortunate and proud to be distributing Henta Green tea. Aside from the dark green fragrant quality, it has the properties of reducing blood sugar level and has high antioxidant properties which reduces risk of cardiovascular disease.
